pi?
i just read an amazing story in the newspapers... ok, maybe not that amazing, but it just woke me up from my early morning daze, reminding me that there are much more worthwhile things to do with my life. this china chemistry grad student just tried to break the world's record for reciting by memory the decimal placings to PI. hmmm... he managed 67,890 decimal places... AND STILL LOST!!!! the record, for reference, is held by a Japanese man - Akira Haraguchi - who did 83,431 places in 24 HOURS!!!!! can you imagine - sitting there for 24 hours, reciting decimal places?
Anyway - while fascinating - as PI is really one of those really odd mathematical unknowns - it put my day into perspective. i'm still sleepy tho. i can only do PI up to 5 digits from memory --> 3.14159265 - ok... 8 digits!
i can tell it's going to be one of those days. it's 9:17 by my clock, and i've already used up my 15 mins of free time...
*sigh*

awesome.... reciting PI huh! I reckon rounding to the nearest 2 decimals is already pretty good... & there's definitely better things to do in 24 hours than to chant PI :)
