i was reading this article about this singapore contest called "surviving the sky" challenge. 36 couples from 6 asian nations. 2 couples per {suspended} cable car about the size of a golf cart. cars are monitored by cctv cameras. no a/c. no toilets. 7 days. HK$230,000 worth of prizes for the winner. rule: no kissing, no vomiting, and only a 10-minute toilet break each day. first of all... it's absolutely CRAZY. with such high humidity/heat in spore - and you locked in a suspended tin can with only 3 liters of water a day and NO A/C???? second - ONE BATHROOM BREAK? FOR 10 MINS???? you gotta be kidding me. i pee like 5 times an hour, and well we don't need to go into #2! but like a dog, you gotta hold it all in for that one 10 min break! even dogs get at least 2x a day!!!!! third - no vomiting??? actually - 3 couples did get disqualified cause they vomited in that tin can - and you can imagine the stink, and the heat and the sweat mixed in. one couple they said vomited all over each other too. ew... it's b/c you're actually going back and forth from sentosa island back to mainland spore - a 20 min ride. so many get motion sickness (duh - u'd think u wouldn't do it if u were susceptible to that??). one thai couple stepped in and in less than a minute quit. so you're actually going back and forth for a week - how fun... the worst part... Hk$230,000 in PRIZES??@!#@!?#@! what the@*&#!(@#@!#?/????? gimme da dough!!!!




this was me and derek at the hospital on wed nite.... we had such the funny nite. derek insisted on having a 'high ankle sprain' cause he read about them in the NBA.... so when the doc was like "u'r ankle has a bad sprain... all the tendon/ligaments around the ankle has been damaged" or something like that - derek goes and blurts "um, you think it might be a 'high ankle sprain'?"... and the doc's like "uh... what's that?" i got reprimanded by the nurse for a number of things - like trying to take pictures of derek wheeling himself around; not helping derek do the wheelchair thing; laughing in the patient area; trying to go into the xray room wit derek... man, i just couldn't do anything right!!!!

all in all it was a fun time. aside from a physical set back, you can be sure there will be no slowing down derek's momentum coming up to cebu!!! so spare some time and lift him and his bum ankle up in prayer!
