bali!!!

i'm in bali now. most people probably heard of today's tragedy in southeast asia - this 8.9 earthquake hit, and now there's over 6,300 believed dead in thailand (phuket specifically), malaysia, india, sri lanka, indonesia, and prolly some others too. i'm blessed to be safe on the other side of indonesia, in the eastern islands. in fact, even jakarta wasn't affected. it's looking like a real mess...

anyway -it's really great to be back amongst my old fellowship from the jakarta days. many of these peeps i haven't seen since i left in aug. 2000. some others prolly from when i was here in march 2001. but otherwise, it's been a LONG time! i've never really come to appreciate friendships until you actually don't get it for a bit, then come back to it and are able to just speak about u'r past, and share about where i've grown, where they've grown... and really to pray w/each other.

to have that global net of brothers and sisters in Christ, and to have that global net of believers to be prayer warriors for God are AWESOME! i'm so excited to be here!!

so we arrived tonite after a long day of travel (at least for me). i was up at 6, left at 7... flew at 9:30, spent over an hour in immigration, met them to fly again at 16:15... found out we were delayed an hour cuz our plane was a connection from malaysia... arrived bout 8ish... got our car... checked in... watched and was mesmerized by the news... came out to eat some food... and now everyone's just dead tired, and i find myself at an internet bar across the street sending emails to let peoples know that all is good where i'm at. and it's not even midnite!!!

well - i'm feeling good about this trip. i just can't wait till friday afternoon!!!!! :)
